Who we are
mulch is a not-for-profit events platform for grassroots nightlife, arts and culture in Leeds. We exist to spotlight independent promoters, collectives and venues doing the real work — the people putting on the nights that make this city what it is.
We built this as an alternative to the big ticketing platforms, the ones that pile booking fees onto every transaction and treat your night as a line item. On mulch, we keep things fair, transparent and close to the ground.
Fair fees
We charge £0.40 fee on tickets £5 and under, 8% above £5. The promoter keeps the full ticket price, while our fee covers Stripe's payment costs and helps keep mulch running.
We're open about where the money goes. Mulch Leeds CIC is not-for-profit, and once costs and sensible reserves are covered, we intend for genuine surplus to support charitable or community causes.
How our fees compare

Based on a single general-admission ticket. Providers change their pricing, negotiate rates individually, and apply different payment-processing charges, VAT treatment and event-type pricing, so the fee you are actually offered may differ. All names and trade marks belong to their respective owners and are used here for factual comparison. Check each provider directly before deciding.Why we're doing this
Independent events in Leeds punch well above their weight. Small venues and club nights run on passion and goodwill, promoters grafting to make something worth showing up for. They deserve a platform that actually gives a shit.
We're not here to take a cut and disappear. We're part of the same community — we go to these nights, we know these people. mulch is built with that in mind.

If you're a promoter, collective or venue and you want to list your events on mulch, here's how it works:
- Create a free account on the site
- Confirm your email via the link we send
- From your account page, click Host an Event
- Fill in your promoter profile — takes two minutes
- Your account is activated instantly and you can start submitting events straight away
Every event goes through a quick review before going live, just to make sure everything looks right. Free entry events, free tickets through mulch and links to tickets sold elsewhere are available now. Paid ticketing through mulch opens in October 2026 — get in touch in advance and we'll set you up.
